Im Rahmen der Messe 5.Mobile Entertainment Market (MEM 2005) werden die diesjährigen Gewinner der „Mobile Entertainment Forum“-(MEF-)Awards bekannt gegeben. Die Jury hat im Vorfeld die Nominierungsliste veröffentlicht: Demnach wird der Award in fünf Kategorien – „Best Contribution to Mobile Games“, „Best Contribution to Mobile Music“, „Best Contribution to Mobile Content“, „Best Contribution to Mobile Servies“ und „Mobile Innovation“ – vergeben. Hinzu kommt der „Special Recognition“-Award, mit dem das MEF auf besondere Weise einen innovativen Mobile-Entertainment-Anbieter ehren will.
Zu den nominierten Unternehmen gehören:
Best Contribution to Mobile Games: ESPN („Bassmaster“), Infospace („Pub Fight“), I-play („Mobile version of 3D Pool“), Macrospace („Who wants to be a millionaire?“) und Nokia N-Gage („Pathway to Glory“).
Best Contribution to Mobile Music-Award: Inventa Productions („Pete Tong’s Fast Trax Show“), Melodeo („Mobile Music Service“), Qpass („Content delivery platform for ONE“), Sony Network Service („StreamMan“), Vodafone („Full track music downloads“).
Best Contribution to Mobile Content: Cinema Electric Inc. („Pocket Cinema Streaming Video Service“), Endemol UK with Victoria Reel („Celebrity Big Brother 3“), Jamba! („Jamba Stars“), Orange S.A. („Orange Star Wars Project“), Que Pasa Communications („Bites – Virgin Mobile’s content portal“).
Best Contribution to Mobile Services: RE5ULT Limited („82ASK), Endemol UK („All new cosmetic surgery live“), M7 Networks („Application Community Program“), Volantis („eBay“), Idetic Inc. („MobiTV“), Orange France („Orange World Video Universe“).
